My cousin Matthew has just returned to the country. He spent seven years working abroad. During this time, he earned a lot of money so he managed to buy a big flat in his hometown. He bought the flat three months ago, when we was still working in a hotel in Paris, so he did not really have time to decorate it or even design its interiors. It was his mother, my aunt Becky, who chose and ordered all necessary items. She got some new bathroom furniture, living room and bedroom furniture, tiles, floor panelling, the colour of paint, all fixtures and equipment. She actually designed and had the flat redecorated for him. Mathew is generally a guy who doesn"t enjoy shopping. He likes everything to be done for him and he never criticizes his mother"s choices. Well, I am a completely different person so it is hard for me to understand this attitude, but I won"t interfere to anybody else"s private life. If he likes the bathroom furniture that his mother bought for him, then what"s the problem? I visited him yesterday and I must say that the flat is not completely devoid of taste, but I would rather expect an elderly lady to like such colours and furniture. But Matt feels good in his new flat and he likes the way it has been refurbished so I don"t think he will be changing anything in the nearest future.
